A few tips on running a club

• Make your club based on a subject that you are passionate about. Don't create it just for the sake of resume padding. If you are creating a club just for college resume purposes without work to back it up, you are wasting your member's lunchtime and cheating yourself.

• Successful clubs require hard working leaders- the clubs that have lasted for more than 2 years have dedicated leadership that have engaged members in what the club does.

• Plan out each meeting- poorly planned lunchtime meetings lead to loss if interest and ultimately loss of members.

• Please keep your club alive. More than 75% of Paly clubs have mysteriously disappeared after 1st Semester. This is a shame and a disgrace to Paly and undermines the credibility of the club's leader(s). It also makes peers and the ASB Officers wonder what the motives these leaders have for starting the club.
